Last light at Somesville

It was still low tide when we left Ship Harbor to head back to the campground. We stopped at Somesville, at the end of Somes Sound, at the town library. Somes Sound divides Mt. Desert Island in half into a sort of fortune-cookie shape, and is the only fjord in the eastern US. This particular view doesn't really show the fjord-ness of the sound, but I was struck by the contrast of light and dark as the sun came closer to setting. We had about twenty minutes left of daylight to pick up some more firewood for the evening!
