All we need is someone with a working DDS plugin for Gimp to properly format those files.
Yes, I do get the flashing effect -- you only get it when you are scrolling, and I assume how bad it is depends on how powerful your GPU is. What the GPU is doing as you are scrolling is re-sizing the graphics so it looks further away. The faster you do this, the more stress you put on the GPU. One way to relieve this strain is to pre-calculate the resizing for it, which is what a MipMap is. |
